MMWD Watershed, Bolinas-Fairfax Road Closed to Vehicles

Due to the Woodward Fire in Marin County and multiple fires in the Bay Area as well as limited fire suppression resources, the Marin Municipal Water District's watershed is closed to vehicles beginning, Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 9:00 PM through Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 9:00 PM.  The County of Marin will close the gates to the Bolinas-Fairfax Road at the Meadow Club and at Highway 1 to all vehicle traffic during this time.  State Parks on Mt Tam has already taken measures to close Ridgecrest Blvd as well as Pan Toll through Sunday.  In the event of an evacuation in west Marin, the gates to Bolinas-Fairfax Road will be opened for one-way traffic for evacuees.

Marin County will continue to see hot, dry weather in our area through the weekend, and there is a slight chance of another tropical storm moving through Marin.  For public safety and fire prevention reasons, closing the watershed to vehicles is necessary at this time.
